114 turtles were handed over by the temple and released into their natural habitat.

Turtles from Hoa Vang Forest Ranger District Surrendered for Protection at Cuc Phuong National Park

On April 25, the Hoa Vang Forest Ranger District received 114 individual turtles from Nam Son Pagoda in Hoa Chau commune, Hoa Vang district. These turtles, including striped turtles and box turtles, were voluntarily surrendered by the pagoda and had been released by people at the temple over the years. The forest ranger department had previously lobbied the temple to hand over the turtles, as many species live together in the lake and sunbathe under concrete pillars.

The department contacted the nature protection center in Hanoi to send people to take the turtles to Cuc Phuong National Park. There, they would research, classify species, determine their habitat, and release them into the wild. The well-being of these animals is important as they are released into a lake where many other species also live. Efforts were made to relocate them to a safer environment in Cuc Phuong National Park.

Nam Son is a large temple in Danang that attracts many visitors and tourists who come to pray. The temple grounds include a large lake where many people release turtles and fish. However, because so many species are released into the lake, their habitat is not guaranteed. This is why it is important for efforts to be made to ensure their well-being and relocate them to a safer environment in Cuc Phuong National Park.
