The AHA Accelerating Health Equity Conference in Kansas City, Mo. is set to bring together over 1,000 individuals starting tomorrow. This year’s theme, Driving Change Together, highlights the importance of leaders from various sectors coming together to ensure that everyone has access to quality health care. The conference, led by the AHA Community Health Improvement (ACHI) network and AHA’s Institute for Diversity and Health Equity (IFDHE), provides an opportunity for sharing successes, learning from challenges, and recommitting to improving the health of communities.

The conference features a lineup of plenary speakers, breakout sessions, and immersion experiences focused on critical topics such as building community partnerships, addressing social determinants of health, promoting diversity in leadership, and creating inclusive workplaces. Participants will have the chance to visit local organizations in Kansas City neighborhoods to see community health improvement initiatives in action.

The complexity of health care issues requires collaboration among hospitals, health systems, public health departments, and community-based organizations to drive change and accelerate health equity.
