Supporting Veterans’ Entrepreneurial Dreams with New Jersey SBDC Program

In a major step to support the entrepreneurial dreams of active-duty military personnel, veterans, and their families, the New Jersey Small Business Development Center at Fairleigh Dickinson University has launched a new program called Veterans Launching Ventures. The program is offered free of charge thanks to the support of TD Foundation and Wells Fargo, and it was developed in collaboration with FDU and Stockton University.

The Veterans Launching Ventures program consists of four modules that provide participants with a comprehensive range of services to help them start or expand their business. These modules include both on-demand and live virtual training courses, as well as professional consulting support and workshops.

The first three modules offer nine self-paced on-demand classes that focus on entrepreneurship basics, idea generation, and feasibility testing. These classes are now available for participants to access at their own convenience. Additionally, weekly live workshops are held to provide participants with the opportunity to interact with experts in the field and learn from their experiences.

The fourth module is designed specifically for individuals who plan to open a business within the next six months. It includes a nine-week business planning course, access to resources, and personalized consulting. This module will begin on Tuesday and culminate with a business plan pitch competition on June 29th.

For more information about the Veterans Launching Ventures program, individuals can contact SBDCinfo@fdu.edu or call 201-692-2236. Registration for the program is currently open at bit.ly/VLVRegistration.
