Rising from the Shadows: The Northgate Mall’s Journey to Revival in Lafayette
Ebony Roberts, a former teacher turned skincare business owner, has been at the Northgate Mall in Lafayette for six years and attests to the growth and potential of the area. Over the years, the mall has faced challenges as businesses have moved to the more modern South side of town, but Roberts believes that it still has great potential. New businesses like Cristal Henry’s Glam House are starting to open at the Northgate Mall, in the hopes of attracting more local shoppers and encouraging other businesses to consider the north side of Lafayette. Despite misconceptions about the mall being empty, there are actually 35 shops operating, most of which are local businesses that provide valuable services to the community.
