Maximizing Your Learning in Glass Science: The 15th ICG Workshop for New Researchers in Montpellier, France

The International Commission on Glass (ICG) is pleased to announce the 15th ICG Workshop for New Researchers in Glass Science and Applications, set to take place in Montpellier, France from July 7 to 12, 2024. This workshop is designed for PhD/Master’s students studying glass or those who have recently started research in the glass industry.

During the week-long event, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of glass science, with an emphasis on preparation, structure-property relationships, experimental techniques, MD simulations, and tools that probe structure. Key themes to be covered include thermodynamics, kinetics, optical behavior, transport phenomena, nucleation, crystallization, and strength.

One of the unique features of these workshops is student-centered learning. In addition to 16 formal lectures, there will be eight tutorials that involve discussions with participants. The normal fee for the workshop is €970, with a reduced fee of €380 available for students and academic staff.
