Suspect taken into custody for stealing tip jar from Miami Beach establishment

Bagel Thief Arrested in Miami Beach: Jeffrey Lewis Scott Charged with Petit Theft

A man has been arrested for stealing money from the tip jar at a Miami Beach business, according to Local 10 News. Jeffrey Lewis Scott, 33, was taken into custody on Wednesday on a petit theft charge after being identified as the individual captured on surveillance video stealing cash from the Bagel Time Cafe on Alton Road.

This isn’t the first time Bagel Time has made headlines. Previously, the business was targeted by someone who took down an Israeli flag hanging outside and stomped on it multiple times. However, this time, the thief was after something else – cash. According to the owner, Josh Nodel, the thief managed to steal $200 from the tip jar, with Nodel describing the theft as “smooth as butter.” The thief pretended to order a bagel and then took money from the tip jar where larger bills were kept.

As of Thursday morning, Jeffrey Lewis Scott was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $2,500 bond. The incident remains under investigation by local authorities.
