Advancements in Heterojunction Technology Driving Cost Reduction for Solar Plant Development

Power plant developers in the current solar energy landscape are facing challenges involving high costs and navigating obstacles such as permits, grid connections, and the supply chain. Huasun’s Director of European Business Development, Christian Comes, recently shared insights into the benefits of the company’s high-efficiency heterojunction technology in large-scale projects at a virtual conference.

Comes emphasized the importance of more efficient and reliable modules in cutting costs significantly for power plant developers. He stressed the need for a long-term perspective that focuses on overall module performance throughout the entire lifecycle. These factors are essential for applying module products to large-scale projects and are crucial in overcoming barriers to their development.

Heterojunction modules are expected to become mainstream products in the future, offering excellent energy yield capabilities that are particularly important for large-scale plant applications. With higher electricity generation capabilities, fewer modules are needed, which effectively manages costs related to land, transportation, and installation. Leveraging the advantages of heterojunction technology and continuously improving manufacturing processes, Huasun modules achieve bifacial yields as high as 85%, leading to greater gains in electricity generation compared to other alternatives.
