Chase Elliott Wins in Overtime at Texas Motor Speedway in NASCAR Cup Race

Chase Elliott secured his first NASCAR Cup victory in 42 races on Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway, winning in double overtime. This long-awaited win marked a significant milestone for the sport’s most popular driver and was his 19th career Cup win. Brad Keselowski crossed the finish line in second place, followed by William Byron, Tyler Reddick, and Daniel Suarez. The sixth through tenth positions were claimed by Chase Briscoe, Bubba Wallace, Austin Dillon, Kyle Busch, and rookie Carson Hocevar.

Elliott’s victory was a long time coming, as he had not won a Cup race since October. Despite the winless streak, this triumph puts him back in the winner’s circle and reaffirms his competitive edge in the series. Kyle Larson retained his position as the points leader after the Texas race, with Elliott climbing from sixth to fourth in the standings with his latest victory. This win not only marks a personal achievement for Elliott but also solidifies his standing in the NASCAR Cup Series.
