Top Four Riders in the World to Compete in Defender Kentucky CCI5*-L Event

World-Renowned Riders Prepare for Exciting Showdown at Kentucky Horse Park’s Defender Kentucky CCI5*-L

The Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington is gearing up to host the Defender Kentucky CCI5*-L, which features some of the world’s top riders. A total of 47 horse-and-rider combinations have entered the competition, set to take place from April 24-28.

Among the top riders on the list are Oliver Townend, Ros Canter, Boyd Martin, and Tom McEwen, all currently ranked in the top four of the FEI World Rankings. Notably absent from the defending champions are Tamie Smith and Mai Baum, who will be competing in the Cosequin Lexington CCI4*-S instead. This year promises an exciting showdown as many five-star regulars have entered.

Some riders have also entered in the prestigious Badminton CCI5*-L event taking place in England from May 8-12. Among them are Oliver Townend, Grace Taylor, Meghan O’Donoghue, Boyd Martin, Kirsty Chabert, Ros Canter and Jessica Phoenix. It will be interesting to see how these riders perform in both competitions.
