SGMC Health Receives Three-Year Accreditation in Vascular Testing, Boosting Efforts Against Cardiovascular Diseases

SGMC Health has been granted a three-year accreditation from the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) in Vascular Testing, covering both Peripheral Arterial Testing and Extracranial Cerebrovascular Testing. This accreditation underscores the importance of vascular testing procedures within the health system as they enable early detection of life-threatening heart disorders, strokes, and other diseases.

Cardiovascular diseases are a leading cause of death in the United States, with one American dying every 34 seconds and nearly 800,000 strokes occurring annually. These statistics emphasize the need for timely diagnosis and intervention.
