House Passes Trust the Science Act along with National Agricultural Aviation Association in Washington D.C.

The Trust the Science Act: A Closer Look at Gray Wolf Protections, Ag Innovation and Bird Flu Outbreaks

The “Trust the Science Act” has been passed by the House and is now being considered by the Senate. During a speech on the bill, U.S. Representative Dan Newhouse highlighted its objective to remove Endangered Species Act protections for the gray wolf. Newhouse believes that science-based approaches should be used to determine if species are ready for delisting rather than using the ESA as a tool against private landowners.

On another note, the National Agricultural Aviation Association is taking part in Ag on the Mall in Washington, D.C., which aims to highlight American equipment manufacturers, farmers, ranchers, and innovators who work towards reducing environmental impact while increasing productivity. The NAAA will showcase a Bell Jet Ranger Helicopter equipped with a liquid spray system for applying crop protection materials at the event.

In response to bird flu outbreaks in certain dairy cattle states, the U.S government has started collecting ground beef samples from retail stores to ensure meat safety. Despite this, there is no need to worry about public health as both CDC and WHO have stated that overall public health risk is low even though it’s higher for people who have been exposed to infected animals.
