Avery Carlson, the standout player for the Wabasso Rabbits softball team, has been a key player on both offense and defense in her senior year. With a .467 batting average, 1.31 ERA, and 59 strikeouts in 11 games, she has shown her versatility and skill on the field.
In a recent interview conducted by Travis Rosenau, Carlson reflected on her favorite game in her high school career so far – the section championship game from last year against Edgerton. Despite falling short, she remembers the energetic atmosphere and the thrill of competing at that level.
When asked about her interests outside of sports, Carlson revealed her love for baking and decorating cakes. In fact, she runs her own baking business called Ave’s Cakes, which can be found on Instagram at aves.cakes11.
In terms of her personal preferences, Carlson shared that her favorite food is pizza, her favorite band or musical artist is Taylor Swift, and her favorite movie is The Sandlot.
