The Evidence of Americans’ Amazon Prime Obsession is Clear

The Epic Domination of Amazon Prime: 75% of US Shoppers are Members, and the Growth Potential is Steady

New data reveals that Amazon Prime had 180 million members in March, representing 75% of all US shoppers. This underscores the immense popularity and ubiquity of Amazon in the online shopping world. With more people than not being an Amazon Prime member, the number is steadily growing each year.

The source of this data, Consumer Intelligence Research Partners, shows an impressive 8% increase in Prime membership from the previous year. This growth potential indicates that Amazon Prime continues to attract new members, albeit at a slower rate than before. The subscription fees of $15 per month or $140 annually are a significant source of revenue for Amazon.

According to analysts, there is a prediction of a 12% jump in the company’s subscription revenue for the first quarter, with data set to be released on April 30th. Other retailers like Target and Walmart have also joined the bandwagon by offering membership services to compete with Amazon. These services include perks such as free shipping on online orders and access to streaming services.

Despite efforts by other retailers to rival Amazon Prime, it remains a dominant force in the industry. Even items purchased on other websites like eBay are often shipped by Amazon, demonstrating its ingrained position in the online shopping experience.
