Sen. Capito Secures Millions in Funding for Healthcare, Education, and Economic Development in West Virginia
U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia has recently announced funding from various federal agencies to support projects in the state. The resources, which are aimed at enhancing health services, economic development, infrastructure, academic and defense research, park improvement efforts, and energy projects, include:
A $1,799,114 grant from the Health and Human Services (HHS) Health Center Cluster program for WomenCare, Inc., located in Scott Depot. This funding will help provide essential health services to underserved populations in the area.
Additionally, other area agencies receiving HHS funding include the Southwestern Community Action Council, Inc. in Huntington ($8,465,926), Valley Health Systems, Inc. in Huntington ($7,678,870), and the West Virginia Department of Health and Humans Resources in Charleston ($1,229,006). These grants will help fund programs that focus on early childhood education and healthcare services for low-income families.
