Public Health Alert: Contaminated Chorizo Sold at H-E-B in San Antonio
In San Antonio, a public health alert has been issued due to contaminated chorizo sold at H-E-B. The U.S. Department of Agriculture reports that the affected product is “LEAN APCO BRAND MEATS ALL-NATURAL PREMIUM CHORIZO” with a best-by date of May 12. These packages were sold at H-E-B grocery stores in Texas.
Fortunately, no injuries or illnesses have been reported from consuming the contaminated chorizo. However, if you have purchased this product, it is recommended to either throw it away or return it to H-E-B. San Antonio Packing Company, owners of APCO Brand Meats, have released a press release regarding the public health alert, reminding consumers to always be cautious when consuming any food products and to report any issues or concerns to the appropriate authorities.
