Ponsse to eliminate over 20 positions in Finland

Ponsse Avoids Major Layoffs: How the Company Minimized Job Losses During Change Negotiations”.

The manufacturing company Ponsse originally estimated that it would be cutting a total of 120-140 jobs, with around 50-60 of those in Finland. However, after change negotiations concluded about a month ago, the company ended up reducing only 21 jobs in Finland and approximately 40 jobs outside of Finland.

The change negotiations at Ponsse were challenging, but the company was able to minimize the impact on its workforce by offering opportunities for employees to transition into new roles within the company. This approach helped to mitigate the overall number of layoffs and ensure that employees were given support during the transition period.

Although many employees initially faced uncertainty about their job security, Ponsse worked hard to find new positions for them as part of a change in operating model. As a result, many were able to avoid layoffs altogether and find new opportunities within the company.
