New Adaptive Program Center Opens at Jefferson County Fairgrounds for Disabled Athletes”.

The National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) recently opened its new Adaptive Program Center at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds with a Field Day event that drew over 100 Aurora Public School students, representatives from The Hartford, Move United, Jefferson County Officials, and Denver Broncos alumni. During the event, students had the opportunity to participate in activities such as an obstacle course, archery and try out adaptive cycles as part of the launch of the new program.

The NSCD received a $50,000 grant from The Hartford to purchase new adaptive cycles for the program. Julie Taulman, president and CEO of NSCD highlighted during her speech that the location of the new program center provides a safe and convenient space for people to enjoy outdoor activities. She emphasized on socializing with others and trying out different sports and activities.

The center offers 100 acres of land with easy access to miles of trails for programs and lessons offered during spring, summer and fall seasons. Overall, Julie stated that NSCD’s new Adaptive Program Center is designed to provide individuals with disabilities an opportunity to engage in sports and outdoor activities in a safe and inclusive environment.
