LATAM Reveals Updated Economy Cabin Design for Dreamliner

LATAM Group’s US$60 Million Investment in Sustainable Onboard Entertainment: Enhancing the Travel Experience for Economy Class Passengers

LATAM Group, a leading airline in South America, has announced a significant investment of US$60 million to introduce a new Economy cabin design for their Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The redesigned cabin features several upgrades that will enhance the onboard experience for passengers.

One of the key enhancements is the new onboard entertainment system, which allows Economy class passengers to connect their personal headphones via Bluetooth and enjoy a wide variety of content on 12-inch high-definition touchscreens. This includes over 170 movies, 550 TV show episodes, 100 music albums, and exclusive content from platforms like HBO Max, Paramount+, and Disney+.

Another exciting feature is the use of seat upholstery made with 57% recycled leather. This sustainable material production reduces carbon emissions by up to 60% and saves water and land use by up to 55%. This is the second wide-body aircraft to feature seats with recycled leather upholstery, and all narrow-body aircraft in the LATAM group fleet already include this eco-friendly material.

The renovated spaces also offer headrests, a 6-inch recline, and a renewed onboard entertainment system with 12-inch screens. Passengers can also upgrade to LATAM+ seats for an even more comfortable travel experience. LATAM+ seats offer extra legroom, greater recline, exclusive luggage space, and priority boarding and disembarkation. These enhancements position the LATAM Group at the forefront of the region in terms of onboard entertainment and sustainability, reflecting the unique spirit and pride of South America.

In addition to these enhancements, a new interactive 3D map called Panasonic’s Arc™ has been incorporated into the cabin design. This map provides detailed information about landmarks and streets from the air, allowing passengers to explore and discover iconic places in different cities during their flight.

Overall, this redesigned cabin aims to provide passengers with an unforgettable travel experience while promoting sustainability efforts across all aspects of air travel.

The LATAM Group plans to introduce four aircraft with this new cabin design this year as part of their ongoing commitment to providing exceptional service and innovation in aviation.
