CDM presents unions with 100 euro bonus and incentives for hiring today

Italian Government Proposes New Legislative Decree to Boost Employment and Infrastructure Development

In January 2025, employees will receive a 100 euro allowance on their paychecks if they meet certain criteria. To qualify, they must have a total income of no more than 28,000 euros, with a spouse and at least one dependent child, or for single-parent families with a single dependent child. This measure is anticipated by the Cohesion decree, which is set to be discussed in the Council of Ministers. Initially, the drafts mentioned a bonus within the thirteenth month but the final version includes this allowance.

The government has presented a legislative decree aimed at supporting employment growth and reducing unemployment in Italy. The decree includes provisions such as reducing social security contributions for new hires for two years and encouraging the establishment of new businesses in different regions of Italy. The main objective of this decree is to support those looking for work and boost employment growth.

The revision of cohesion policies is part of an effort to accelerate the implementation of the European cohesion policy 2021-2027 in Italy. This reform targets strategic sectors to overcome infrastructural gaps and increase competitiveness, particularly in the South of Italy. The government intends to utilize 75 billion euros, with 43 billion coming from European resources, to achieve these goals.
