GITEX Africa 2024: Unlocking the Potential of African Tech Startups with a $100,000 Prize and More!

GITEX Africa 2024 is a three-day event that will take place from May 29th to 31st, following the success of last year’s conference and exhibition attended by over 35,000 people and 900 exhibitors from 128 countries. This year’s event promises to be even better, with numerous networking opportunities for professionals in various sectors such as cloud and IoT, cybersecurity, digital health, future finances, consumer technology, telecoms, and AI.

Despite a global slowdown in venture capital, African tech startups raised $6.5 billion in 2022. This signifies a growing interest in the continent from international investors. London venture capitalist Breega has stated that the African tech ecosystem is comparable to Europe in the early 2010s. With promising GDP growth forecasts driving further investments in Africa, this trend is expected to continue.

In addition to the conference and exhibition booths, GITEX Africa 2024 will feature a startup competition with a $100,000 prize. Attendees can also benefit from certified training courses and workshops on topics like generative AI, blockchain development, and data science applications. The event will also highlight entrepreneurs and founders from Africa with the North Star Africa startup showcase.

Confirmed speakers for this year’s event include industry leaders such as Raz Bachar from Microsoft for Startups, Maelis Carraro from Catalyst Fund, Tosin Eniolorunda from Moniepoint
