Fleet Week Comes to Miami: A Showcase of Science, Sailors, and Seafaring Excitement

The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps have brought Fleet Week to South Florida, with over 3,000 members participating in the week of events. The week commenced at the Frost Museum of Science on Sunday, with a free performance by the U.S. Navy Band. Dr. Cassie Freund, the director of science communication at Frost Science, expressed her excitement about having the Navy in Miami for Fleet Week, highlighting the importance of their presence in a coastal city like Miami.

Four ships from the Navy have docked at PortMiami, adding to the excitement of the event and making it a special occasion for both the military and the community. This marks the first time in a long while that Fleet Week has been held in Miami, showcasing its significance to both sides.
