Buffalo Bills Strengthen their Roster with Signings of Chase Claypool, Dawuane Smoot, and Deion Jones
The Buffalo Bills made a series of significant signings on Friday, including wide receiver Chase Claypool, defensive end Dawuane Smoot, and linebacker Deion Jones. These signings come as the team continues to upgrade its roster, particularly in the receiving corps after trading star Stefon Diggs and losing Gabe Davis in free agency.
Claypool is a welcome addition to the revamped receiving group that already includes newcomers Curtis Samuel, Mack Hollins, Quintez Cephus, and Florida State WR Keon Coleman. At 6-foot-4 and 238 pounds, Claypool brings size and experience to the team with over 2,000 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns since entering the league as a second-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2020.
Smoot is another solid addition to the defense behind Von Miller and Greg Rousseau. He spent seven seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars and brings depth to the defensive line. In 99 games, including 17 starts, Smoot has recorded 23.5 sacks, 133 total tackles, 64 quarterback hits, 27 tackles for loss, five forced fumbles
