Michael Irvin departs from NFL Network

Breaking: Michael Irvin’s Super Bowl incident leads to departure from NFL Network

The Super Bowl incident involving Michael Irvin and a Marriott hotel employee in 2023 likely led to his departure from NFL Network, as reported by Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post. The league later confirmed this news to Andrew Marchand of TheAthletic.com.

Although Irvin had one year left on his contract with NFL Network as of last September, it has now expired along with his relationship with the network. Despite this, Irvin continues to maintain a presence in the sports media industry through his work at FS1 and previous stints at ESPN.

It is unclear why the league wanted to resolve the situation quietly before considering bringing Irvin back, but it seems that they were hesitant to bring him back due to the lawsuit he settled with the Marriott hotel. Nevertheless, Irvin remains a respected and influential figure in the sports media industry and will likely continue to be involved in various projects in the future.
