Andrea McLaughlin Appointed as CNO of VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital: Dedicated Nursing Professional Leads Mission to Provide Exceptional Healthcare Services
Andrea McLaughlin, a seasoned nursing professional with over 20 years of experience, has been appointed as the chief nursing officer (CNO) for VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital. McLaughlin, who holds an RN, DNP, CMSRN, and CSSLGB certification, started her career at the bedside and has since advanced to nursing leadership positions.
In her new role as CNO, McLaughlin will lead the hospital’s nursing department and contribute to its ongoing mission of providing exceptional healthcare services to the community. She brings a wealth of experience in various clinical settings, including correctional facilities, emergency medicine, medicine-surgery progressive care, and ambulatory care. Additionally, she has been teaching healthcare students as a full-time faculty member at Brightpoint Community College and Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Nursing.
McLaughlin has been serving as the interim CNO for Tappahannock Hospital since January 2024 and officially assumed the position on April 28. She is excited to join the hospital’s leadership team and represent the nursing workforce and interprofessional team that delivers high-quality care to patients and the community.
