USA Sweeps Relay Events in World Athletics Relays Bahamas 24: A Look at their Dominance Leading up to Paris 2024

The USA proved their dominance in the relay events at the World Athletics Relays Bahamas 24, securing their position as the team to beat leading up to the Paris 2024 athletics event. The US men and women swept four out of five finals, with the Botswana men claiming victory in the 4x400m relay after the Americans were disqualified in the heats.

World champions Noah Lyles and Gabby Thomas played crucial roles in securing wins for the USA in their respective 4x100m races. Thomas also contributed to a world-record time of 3:21.70 for the American women’s 4x400m team. The event served as a platform to secure Olympic quota spots, with most of them filled in each discipline.

Over 1600 athletes, including top stars such as Lyles, Thomas, Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs, and world champion Femke Bol, gathered in Nassau, Bahamas for this highly anticipated event. The US men’s 4x100m relay team set a world-record time of 37.40 to win gold while the women’s team dominated with a championship record of 41.85 in their respective races.

However, it is important to note that National Olympic Committees have exclusive authority over Olympic Games representation and athletes’ participation in Paris 2024 depends on their NOC selecting them for their delegation. The official qualification system for each sport is available for reference for those aiming to compete in these upcoming games.
