English teenager Kris Kim has made a remarkable debut on the PGA Tour, becoming the youngest player to make the cut in nine years. At just 16 years old, Kim surpassed the record previously set by Jordan Spieth in 2010 at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson tournament in McKinney, Texas.
Kim impressed with his remarkable composure during the first two rounds, carding a three-under-68 first round and a four-under-67 second round. Despite admitting to feeling nerves on the 18th hole, Kim made a birdie putt to secure his spot in the cut. He expressed his joy at being able to play two more days at the tournament.
Introduced to golf by his mother, Ji-Hyun Suh, a former professional golfer, Kim has already achieved success in his amateur career, winning multiple championships. With his mother now serving as his swing coach, Kim has made the transition to the PGA Tour with impressive results, currently sitting in a tie for 36th place.
