J.K. Dobbins Signs One-Year Deal with Chargers After Stint with Ravens

Ravens’ Former Running Back JK Dobbins Joins Los Angeles Chargers for One-Year Contract: A Look at His Career and Impact on the Chargers’ Offense

Running back JK Dobbins has decided to sign a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers, as confirmed by his agency LAA Sports. This move comes after spending four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. Dobbins will be reuniting with his former offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who now holds the same role with the Chargers.

During his 2021 season, Dobbins was limited to just 22 rushing yards and one touchdown in Week 1 before being placed on injured reserve due to an Achilles injury. He also sustained a torn ACL in the final preseason game and was sidelined for the entirety of the season. Throughout his career, Dobbins has accumulated 1,347 yards rushing, 12 rushing touchdowns, 27 receptions for 177 receiving yards, and one receiving touchdown.

The Chargers struggled in several categories related to rushing last season, including yards per carry and rushing first-down percentage. With new head coach Jim Harbaugh and QB Justin Herbert on board, adding more options to the offense to support Herbert has become a top priority for the team this offseason. The expectation is that Dobbins will make a significant impact on the Chargers’ offensive game plan moving forward.
