New OPS Director of Technology: Preparing Students for the Future through Critical Thinking and Innovation
Owensboro Public Schools has appointed Chad Alward as its new Director of Technology. Alward is currently an Assistant Principal at Daviess County High School and brings over 16 years of administrative experience to the role.
In his new position, Alward will be responsible for leading the district’s technology initiatives, with a focus on improving collaboration and growth among staff and students. He emphasized the importance of preparing students for the future by fostering critical thinking skills through the use of technology.
Alward aims to create an environment where students transition from being consumers to producers of technology in an ever-changing world. Interim OPS superintendent, Anita Burnette, praised Alward’s qualifications for the role, highlighting his experience, leadership skills, and ability to adapt to technological advancements.
Burnette believes that Alward’s innovative thinking and implementation strategies will further enhance the district’s reputation as a leader in technology education.
