WSFA is excited to announce the addition of sports reporter Davis Baker to the team

New Blood in the Sports Desk: Meet WSFA’s Latest Sports Reporter, Davis Baker

The WSFA News team is excited to announce the arrival of its newest sports reporter, Davis Baker. Baker joins the team after serving as the sports director for KTEN in Denison, Texas for the past two years. During his time at KTEN-TV, he was the weeknight sports anchor, delivering local and regional sports news from north Texas and southeast Oklahoma.

A Georgia native, Davis graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in journalism before working at KTEN. He has a background in sports broadcasting, including internships at WRBL in Columbus, Ga., and writing for “Bulldawg Illustrated” in Athens, Ga., covering UGA sports. Baker expressed his enthusiasm for SEC sports and his eagerness to highlight athletes in Alabama.

Excited to work alongside Rosie Langello, WSFA’s sports director, Baker stated, “I’m honored and excited to join the WSFA team and look forward to showcasing athletes from high school, college, and the pros in and around Montgomery.” Langello also shared her excitement about the new partnership, expressing her confidence in Baker’s background in sports reporting.

Langello emphasized Baker’s passion for sports and willingness to get involved in the community. She stated that he brings a fresh perspective to sports reporting at WSFA and urged viewers to welcome him with open arms. The WSFA team is eagerly anticipating seeing how Baker will impact their coverage of local and regional sporting events.
