Three surfers from abroad killed in botched robbery in Mexico, three suspects apprehended

Mexico’s Tragic Surfing Trio: A Robbery Gone Wrong Leaves Three Friends Dead

According to reports from Mexican authorities, three surfers, two Australians and an American, are believed to have been murdered in a robbery gone wrong in Mexico. The victims were identified as Australian brothers Callum (33) and Jake (30) Robinson, and their American friend Jack Rhoad (30), who were on a surfing holiday on the Mexican coast when they disappeared without a trace last weekend.

Their car was later found burned out near their campsite, prompting a missing persons report. Their social media channels suddenly went silent, with no sign of them since they disappeared. It is not clear if there was any struggle or resistance before the robbers shot them. Three suspects have been arrested, with local police mentioning that they were in possession of narcotics and one suspect was found with the phone of one of the Robinson brothers.

Mexican authorities have launched a murder investigation, with prosecutor Maria Elena Andrade Ramirez stating that everything indicates the three friends were killed during a robbery when they allegedly resisted, resulting in the robbers shooting them. The incident has shocked the surfing community and raised concerns about safety for tourists visiting Mexico’s popular tourist destinations.
