Kenvue excited to receive Science-Based Targets validation for its Healthy Lives Mission and climate action commitment

Kenvue Takes a Lead in the Fight Against Climate Change: Near-Term GHG Emissions Reduction Targets Validated by Science Based Targets Initiative

Kenvue, a leading consumer health company and spinoff of Johnson & Johnson, recently announced that its near-term greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This important milestone signifies the company’s intent to create a positive change and make meaningful progress in support of its Healthy Lives Mission.

According to SBTi, Kenvue’s emission targets align with their end goals and the urgent actions required to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C. The company has committed to reducing its absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030 from a 2020 base year. Additionally, Kenvue has committed that 75% of its suppliers will have science-based targets by 2028.

Pamela Gill-Alabaster, the global head of environmental, social & governance and sustainability at Kenvue, emphasized the significance of this validation. “We are proud that the SBTi has validated our climate targets so early in our new company’s journey,” she stated. “This important milestone signals our intent to create a positive change and make meaningful progress in support of our Healthy Lives Mission.”

Furthermore, these validated near-term targets, and Kenvue’s commitment to set long-term net zero emissions targets informed by the SBTi Net Zero Standard, support the company’s mission to advance the well-being of both people and the planet. The company’s goals and commitments are intended to drive impact and contribute to a healthier future for all.
