Scripps Sports reveals WNBA studio show plans and talent lineup for the upcoming season

ION Prepares for a Second Season of WNBA Broadcasts with Scripps Sports, Featuring Star Players and Exciting Studio Shows

Scripps Sports is set to begin its second season of broadcasting WNBA games on ION. This season, the network will air a total of 43 regular-season games, including eight Indiana Fever games featuring star players Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston.

In addition to the games, Scripps Sports will also be broadcasting weekly studio shows centered around its Friday Night Spotlight on ION, presented by State Farm. These studio shows will include a 30-minute pre-game show with highlights from the week’s games, previews of upcoming matchups on ION, and stories from around the league. Halftime shows, wrap-up shows, and preview shows will also be included in between games.

The WNBA on ION studio shows will be broadcast from Atlanta and hosted by Larry Smith. The analysts for the studio shows will include Autumn Johnson, a former ESPN and Big Ten Network analyst, and Meghan McKeown, a basketball analyst for the Sun, NBC/Peacock, Big Ten Network, ESPN, and Fox. Nicole Denne, Senior Director of Content for Scripps Sports, will serve as the executive producer of the studio shows.

The regular season is set to kick off on May 14th with the first studio shows and games on ION set to air on Friday May 17th. Most weeks, the studio show will begin at 7pm ET followed by WNBA doubleheaders.
