Hickman Kewpies Defeat Jefferson City Jays in Shutout: Ending Three-Game Losing Streak

The Kewpies, a 5-4 team for the season, entered their game against 10-win Jefferson City with the goal of ending their three-game losing streak. They achieved this goal and more by defeating the Jays with a 6-0 shutout. The game began with Lucy Elfrink scoring the first goal for Hickman in the 6th minute.

Just six minutes later, Ada Kirkpatrick extended Hickman’s lead to 2-0. The Kewpies continued to dominate, scoring another goal before halftime to take a commanding 3-0 lead over the Jays. In the second half, Hickman scored three more times, including one off a corner kick from Kira Hoenes, securing their victory with a final score of 6-0 over Jefferson City. With this win, Hickman’s record now stands at 5-4 for the season, while Jefferson City drops to 10-3.

The Kewpies will next travel to Smith-Cotton on Friday, while the Jays will have time off until next Monday when they face Battle on the road.
