Funding now accessible to enhance Indiana’s recycling economy

Grants Available to Boost Recycling in Indiana through the RMDP Program

The Indiana Recycling Market Development Program (RMDP) is currently seeking grant proposals to fund recycling projects in the state. Eligible applicants include businesses, local governments, solid waste management districts, higher education institutions, and nonprofit organizations.

The program is looking for proposals that focus on sustainability and understanding the changing economy for recyclers. Grant funding can help to expand recycling in Indiana through increased markets, manufacturing capacity, and job creation. To be considered, projects must demonstrate economic impact, increased public awareness through outreach and education efforts, and achieve at least one of the following outcomes: an increase in the amount of recyclable material collected or used, a reduction in municipal solid waste sent for final disposal, or improved partnerships with communities.

Interested parties can visit the RMDP website for more information on eligibility requirements, project guidelines, and how to apply. Additional assistance is also available by calling 800-988-7901 or emailing RMDPGrants@idem.IN.gov. The deadline for submitting proposals is June 13.
