Diego’s, a popular taco restaurant and bar in Uptown Kingston, recently announced its closure after ten years of operation. Owner Isaac Cruz took to Instagram to share the news with the establishment’s biggest fans, friends, and family. The decision was made due to the challenges posed by pandemic-era lockdowns and rising costs.

Cruz revealed that Diego’s would be transitioning into a food truck or trailer in order to keep the spirit of the restaurant alive. The pandemic had dealt a significant blow to the business, and despite their best efforts, increasing costs and overhead expenses ultimately forced them to shut down.

Diego’s loyal customers were encouraged to follow the business on Instagram for updates on future events where they would be vending, including appearances at venues like Opus 40. Cruz also made a plea for support as they worked to sustain the business as a mobile food vending operation, emphasizing the importance of community backing in keeping the Diego’s legacy going.
