Montgomery ISD Breaks Ground on Technical Education and Agricultural Science Centers

From Shovels to Success: Montgomery ISD’s Groundbreaking Career and Technical Education and Agricultural Science Centers

On April 26, Montgomery ISD held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new $80 million career and technical education and agricultural science centers. Located along Lone Star Parkway between Buffalo Springs and Plez Morgan drives, the combined size of the centers will be 189,000 square feet once completed.

Preconstruction work on the CTE and ag science centers began in mid-November, with the board approving a guaranteed maximum price of $65.3 million for construction costs in January. The total estimated cost for both centers is $80 million. The Montgomery City Council also agreed to cover up to about one-third of the cost for necessary waterline upgrades during a meeting on March 26.

The completion of these state-of-the-art facilities is expected to enhance educational opportunities for students in the district and help prepare them for successful futures in various career fields. With construction underway and a targeted completion date in 2025, the community can look forward to seeing the impact that these new centers will have on the local education system.
