Brazil’s 2027 Women’s World Cup Bid Receives Higher Mark Than Germany, Netherlands, and Belgium in Report

FIFA Bids for 2027 Women’s World Cup: Brazil Rises Above Germany, Netherlands, and Belgium in Technical Evaluation Report”.

Brazil’s bid for the 2027 Women’s World Cup has been ranked higher than Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium in a FIFA evaluation report released on Tuesday. This marks the first time that FIFA members will have an open vote to determine the hosts of the tournament. The technical evaluation showed that Brazil’s bid received an average score of 4.0 out of 5, while the joint European bid received a score of 3.7. Both bids met the minimum hosting requirements during the technical evaluation process.

The United States and Mexico recently withdrew their joint bid for the tournament, stating that they will now focus on hosting the 2031 event instead. South Africa also dropped its bid last year but will now target hosting the 2031 event as well. This is Brazil’s first time hosting a Women’s World Cup, with previous men’s tournaments held in 1950 and 2014. Germany hosted the Women’s World Cup in 2011, while Australia and New Zealand hosted it in 2023, marking its first time being held by two nations.

The upcoming vote by FIFA Congress will determine which country hosts the 2027 Women’s World Cup, with Brazil currently holding a higher ranking according to the evaluation report.
