F1 Vegas Petition: Small Business Owners Unite Against Grand Prix Return in 2024
Local business owners in the Resort Corridor have launched a new petition to stop the 2024 F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix from taking place. Ferraro’s Ristorante owner Gino Ferraro, who is leading the charge, stated that the goal of the petition is to raise awareness among Las Vegas leaders about the negative economic impact and inconvenience caused by the event in the past. The petition has been created by businesses near Flamingo Road and Koval Lane, who claim to have lost millions in profits due to F1 construction last year.
The businesses are determined to prevent the Grand Prix from happening again, citing a loss of customers as their primary concern. They are seeking support from residents and other community members to pressure Clark County into denying the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix’s special use permit, which is necessary for the race to proceed. The county has yet to schedule a meeting to discuss this matter.
The petition has gained widespread support from various community members such as limo and Uber drivers. Ladane Hayten expressed frustration over last year’s construction and stated that he would be the first one to sign it. Despite attempts to contact F1 and Clark County for comments, no response has been received as of Monday night.
The 2024 F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix is currently scheduled for November 21-23 with Flamingo Bridge set to return later this year. The petition continues to gather momentum as local residents and business owners unite against the upcoming event.
