Double Victories for South Aiken and Fox Creek: securing Championship Titles in Baseball and Girls’ Soccer

In baseball action, North Augusta secured second place in Region 4-AAAA by defeating Midland Valley 12-2. The Jackets will face Strom Thurmond on Monday and will enter the Class AAAA playoffs as a No. 2 seed when they begin on April 29th. Meanwhile, Barnwell claimed the Region 6-AA championship with a 12-2 victory over Hampton County. The Warhorses (15-6, 7-0) will meet Horse Creek Academy on Tuesday and will be the No. 1 seed when the Class AA playoffs start on April 30th.

Turning to girls’ soccer, South Aiken secured the Region 4-AAAA title by defeating Aiken 2-1. Madee Whittle scored twice, with Zoe Schifer and Emmy Crane assisting on the goals. South Aiken (9-5-2, 6-2) earns the No. 1 seed in the Class AAAA playoffs, receiving a first-round bye and hosting a second-round game on May 2nd. In more girls’ soccer action, Fox Creek sealed the Region 3-AA championship by edging out Strom Thurmond 1-0.
