In celebration of Older Americans Month, Foundation Health Partners and the Fairbanks North Star Borough are hosting a summit focused on the theme ‘Age-Friendly Fairbanks.’ The goal is to continuously improve and create an age-friendly community by examining aspects such as housing, transportation, access to healthcare, and recreational opportunities.

The summit kicks off with a luncheon on Thursday and continues with a full day of activities and demonstrations at the Carlson Center on Friday. The event focuses on promoting healthy and active living for individuals over 50, with workshops and speakers covering topics like arthritis management and dementia care. This summit highlights the level of volunteerism and care for the aging population in the Fairbanks community.
