OpenAI takes on Google with the release of its own ChatGPT-powered search engine | TECHNOLOGY

ChatGPT Launches AI Search Engine Within Days: A New Challenge for Google?

OpenAI has hinted at the possibility of launching its own search engine based on artificial intelligence (AI) in the past. Now, it seems that ChatGPT, an AI model from OpenAI, may already have its search engine up and running within a few days. According to Pete, the owner of The Neuron podcast, the search engine will be accessible at search.chatgpt.com with a planned launch date of May 9th.

While the search engine page is currently not active when attempting to access the web address, it is expected to become live in the coming days. Some technology media have noted that the SSL certificate is active, indicating that ChatGPT’s search engine is likely to be launched soon.

ChatGPT’s new search engine comes on the heels of Google’s AI-powered search option, Gemini, which is already available in various regions. ChatGPT aims to provide users with more targeted and intelligent results thanks to its AI capabilities by delivering results from third-party websites in a more intelligent and direct manner than Google.

Despite promising to be an alternative to Google’s Search Labs, some websites are currently experiencing certificate verification issues. However, these should be resolved soon as people eagerly await the launch of ChatGPT’s search engine. It remains to be seen how ChatGPT’s AI-powered search engine will stand out from Google’s options and what kind of impact it will have on the industry.
