Bridging the Gap: National Event Connects Job Seekers with Potential Employers in Sicily

Sicily’s employment consultants network is currently in search of professional figures across a variety of sectors, including entertainment, optometry, orthopedics, physiatry, wages and contributions expertise, personal assistance, family work, and order management. However, despite the high number of job positions offered by Sicilian companies, a significant 42.7% remain vacant due to a lack of suitable candidates. This shortage is particularly felt in the tourism, services, and construction industries.

Despite the challenges faced by employers in finding qualified candidates for open positions, job opportunities continue to be available with the introduction of the new “Employment Superbonus” aimed at encouraging companies to hire young people, women, and individuals over 35 in the South SEZ area.

To help connect job seekers with potential employers and provide valuable insights on the current job market and most sought-after professions in the region, The National Foundation for Labor Consultants has organized a national event called “The work travels with us!” in collaboration with The National Association of Young Labor Consultants and The Provincial Order of Labor Consultants.

The final stage of this event will take place in Messina’s Piazza Duomo where specialized professionals will offer guidance and orientation to young people on choosing study paths that align with their interests and career goals. Activities such as group sessions, workshops on workplace safety and ethical work practices will also be provided. Participants will learn about employment opportunities available in their field of interest as well as active policies available in their local community.

During this event industry experts and business leaders such as Luigi Rizzolo, Vincenzo Silvestri, Luca Paone and Enrico Limardo will share their insights on the current job market and career development opportunities in Sicily. Messina Mayor Federico Basile will also participate to discuss how this event can help bridge the gap between job seekers and potential employers.

Overall this event seeks to provide a platform for young people to discover their strengths while also connecting them with potential employers. Through discussions with experts from various sectors it aims to provide valuable insights into what is required to succeed in different fields while also highlighting emerging trends that may impact future employment prospects.
