Brazilian Spectacle: The UCI MTB World Cup’s Second Round Shines with Dazzling Victories

The second round of the UCI MTB World Cup took place in Araxá, Brazil, and saw Victor Koretzky of Specialized and Haley Batten of Specialized emerge victorious in the men’s and women’s short track events, respectively.

In the men’s race, it was a closely contested battle for the top position, with Koretzky ultimately securing a solo win. He crossed the finish line three seconds ahead of Christopher Blevins of Specialized and one second ahead of Alan Hatherly of Cannondale.

Batten finished her race solo as well, crossing the line four seconds ahead of Linda Indergand of Liv. There was a sprint for third place between Savilia Blunk of Decathlon Ford and Alessandra Keller of Thomus Maxon, with Blunk ultimately securing the third spot.

The series is currently led by Batten in the women’s category with 370 points, followed by Evie Richards in second place with 350 points and Alessandra Keller in third with 310 points. In the men’s overall rankings, Koretzky took the top spot with 400 points, surpassing Sam Gaze who fell to second with 360 points. Luca Schwarzbauer is in third place with 340 points.
