Management and unions set to meet to prevent strike threat at Charleroi airport on Thursday

Avoiding Strike: Charleroi Airport Staff and Management Continue Negotiations

On Tuesday afternoon, Charleroi airport staff announced their intention to strike on Thursday, which is expected to disrupt operations at the airport. Over 17,500 departing passengers and 94 flights would be affected by the potential strike. In response, management and the unions held a meeting in the evening to discuss a solution and prevent the strike.

Following another meeting on Wednesday morning, negotiations continued as the parties worked to find a resolution and avoid the strike. Nathalie Pierard, BSCA’s head of communications, sent an email shortly after midnight stating that further discussions were planned for tomorrow morning to try to find a solution and avoid a strike.

Charleroi Airport is advising passengers to stay updated on the situation through their communication channels and apologizes for any inconvenience caused. The airport is working towards resolving the issues to prevent disruption to operations.
