A 44-year-old man from Petersburg, Jamie Chacon, is facing charges of rape and forcible sodomy after allegedly assaulting a woman at a business in Waynesboro where she worked last summer. The incident is said to have taken place on July 23 in a backroom at the Eagle Game Room on West Main Street.

Chacon, initially charged with rape in September and has been in jail since then, was recently indicted by the Waynesboro grand jury on two additional charges of forcible sodomy. He is currently being held at Middle River Regional Jail in Verona.

A two-day jury trial is scheduled to begin on September 17 in Waynesboro Circuit Court.
