Air Force Loses Two Sophomores to Transfer Portal: Kellan Boylan to Lipscomb, Rytis Petraitis to California
In the midst of a challenging 2023-24 campaign, Air Force has seen two players from its upcoming roster leave for new programs. Sophomore starter Kellan Boylan transferred to Lipscomb University, while fellow sophomore Rytis Petraitis announced his commitment to California. Boylan and Petraitis are the only two Falcons who have entered their names into the transfer portal, as per Academy rules, cadet athletes are eligible to transfer until the start of their junior years.
Boylan had a standout season in 2023-24, starting 30 games for the Falcons and averaging 7.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. His performance was particularly impressive against Wyoming, where he scored 32 points on nine 3-pointers and reached double figures in eight games, three times in Mountain West play. Despite appearing in only six games as a freshman in 2022-23, Boylan showed significant improvement and emerged as a key player for the Falcons.
Lipscomb University is a Division I school based in Nashville, Tennessee that competes in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The Bisons reached their first NCAA Tournament in 2018 and finished with a record of 20-12 in 2023-
