Ag on the Mall Showcases Sustainable Farming Practices and Innovative Technology While U.S. Government Takes Measures to Ensure Safe Meat Supply Amid Bird Flu Outbreak
In Washington, D.C., the National Agricultural Aviation Association is participating in Ag on the Mall, a showcase of sustainable agriculture and farming practices. The event highlights innovators, farmers, ranchers and equipment manufacturers who are committed to reducing the environmental impact of agriculture. The NAAA will be displaying a Bell Jet Ranger helicopter equipped with a liquid spray system for applying crop protection materials.
In response to recent outbreaks of bird flu in dairy cattle, the U.S. government has taken measures to ensure the safety of the meat supply. The government is currently collecting samples of ground beef from retail stores in affected states. While officials are confident in the safety of the meat supply, both the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization have stated that there is a higher public health risk for those who have been exposed to infected animals. Despite this, the government remains committed to ensuring that consumers have access to safe and healthy food options.
