A Week in the Spotlight: High School Sports in Maine

High school sports in the state have been buzzing with excitement this week, and our sports reporters from the Sun Journal, Central Maine, and Press Herald have been out capturing highlights and post-game interviews. They have been busy documenting the action from various games and events.

One standout moment from this week was Maranacook freshman pitcher, Grady Hebren, who delivered a stellar performance with a complete-game win over Mount View. The Black Bears have been impressive this season, surpassing their win total from the previous year.

Catcher Emily Andrews and pitcher Maddie Andrews share their thoughts on the game and their team’s success as the St. Dominic softball team had a quick turnaround and staged an impressive comeback victory over Mountain Valley.

The Cony baseball team ended Monmouth Academy’s 21-game winning streak with a convincing 15-8 victory. Trenton Hayward, who had a standout performance, expressed his satisfaction with the win and the team’s effort.
