SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (April 15, 2023) – The Stevens Institute of Technologies women’s tennis group defeated Lycoming 9- Saturday afternoon in a MAC Freedom matchup. The match was moved indoors due to inclement climate.
The Ducks won their seventh straight match to boost to 7-five and to a ideal six- in the MAC Freedom. The convincing victory was the Ducks’ 12th straight in standard-season conference play.
Graduate Agatha Malinowski and 1st-year Stephanie Untermeyer got the Ducks off to a excellent start off with a strong eight-two victory at 1st doubles more than Emily Wolfgang and Rei Saar. 1st-year Anya Sharma and sophomore Emma Eguia produced it two for two with an eight-three win at second doubles more than Haley Seebold and Sarah Lanphear. Senior Juliette Marchisio and sophomore Isabella Dona capped off the doubles sweep with an eight- rout more than Addison Angstadt and Greta Kimble.
As the play turned to singles, the Ducks continued to dominate the Warriors, winning on all six lines. Untermeyer matched up with Wolfgang on line a single and won six-two, six-. Malinowski posted a further impressive six-two, six-1 choice on line two more than Saar, although junior Polina Odintseva topped Emily Kelchner six-two, six- on line 3. Eguia continued the robust play with a eight- win more than Seebold on line 4. 1st-year Anusha Singh picked up a further win on the day for the Ducks on line 5 with a eight-six victory more than Lanphear. 1st-year Aliona Heitz rounded off the set of wins for the Ducks by taking down Kimble eight-two.
Up Subsequent: Women’s Tennis hosts NJCU on Sunday, April 16th in Hoboken. 1st serve is set for 12 p.m. The Ducks will be celebrating senior day.
