Health Fair to be Hosted by Public Health District

Wichita Falls to Host First Health Fair in Two Years Amid National Public Health Week: Celebrating ‘Super Heroes, Super Health’

The Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District is hosting its first health fair since 2019 next week. The event will take place on April 4 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Health District’s main campus located at 1700 Third Street. This fair is intentionally planned during National Public Health Week, which runs from April 1 to 7, and the theme for this year’s fair is “Super Heroes, Super Health,” designed to cater to both children and adults.

City Public Information Officer Chris Horgen stated that more than 40 community partners will be present at the event to support the WFWCPHD motto: “A healthy community is a strong community.” The fair will feature over 30 kid-friendly booths with additional activities being added as the event approaches. Attendees of all ages can participate in games, activities, get their blood pressure checked, engage in a scavenger hunt, donate blood, try a car accident simulator, potentially win door prizes, and much more.

During National Public Health Week, Wichita Falls Animal Services will be offering free pet adoptions and free microchipping at their location on 1207 Hatton Road. This collaborative effort aims to promote community health and well-being for both humans and pets. Copyright 2024 KAUZ. All rights reserved.
